Jack Lewin, MD

Chairman of the Board

John C. (Jack) Lewin, M.D. is an internationally recognized expert in promoting healthy populations and a strong proponent for more efficient and effective healthcare systems to provide quality care for all.

He is currently serving as Chief Science, Policy and Innovation Officer for Diabetes Treatment Centers of America.

He is the Chairman of the National Coalition on Health Care based in Washington, D.C., immediate past President of the international Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) based in New York City and Chief Executive Officer of the American College of Cardiology (ACC.) 

Dr. Lewin is a distinguished leader in health care and regulatory policy who has advised two Presidents of the United States.

Prior to his Presidency at ACC, Dr. Lewin was Chief Executive Officer of the 35,000 member California Medical Association for eight years.

 Previously, he was Hawaii’s Director of Health from 1986 to 1994, overseeing 6,500 employees, 12 hospitals, and a billion-dollar budget. In addition to helping Hawaii achieve near-universal access to health care and revitalizing statewide public health systems, he served as CEO of Hawaii’s 12-facility statewide public hospital system. 

Before that, as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health Service, Dr. Lewin was the founder and first Director of the Navajo Nation Department of Health, serving the needs of America’s largest American Indian tribe.

In 2011, he was named as one of Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare".

Elliot Justin, MD

Elliot Justin, MD graduated with his BA from Harvard College concentrating in Slavic studies and received his MD from Boston University School of Medicine.

In April, 2018, Dr. Justin accepted a position as Chief of Medical Operations of the Diabetes Treatment Centers of America. "We intend to validate pulsed intravenous insulin therapy as transformation therapy for the disastrous co-morbidities of diabetes: blindness, neuropathy/pain, low  energy, depression, skin ulcers, etc.

In 1988 he founded three Emergency Medicine service companies. 

In 1996 he founded Pegasus Emergency Group which he re-branded in 2008. Pegasus had become the fastest growing company in its sector. "Pegasus tenaciously focused on superior health care and operations and successful business partnerships with our hospitals. We paid more to recruit and retain the best leaders and providers, monitored provider performance to eliminate "walkouts", improved door to doctor time and patient satisfaction. Pegasus was my 3rd successful venture in Emergency Medicine services". He sold the Pegasus Emergency Group in 2014. 

In 2006 he founded and currently serves on the board of SwiftMD, a telemedicine service provider. "Telemedicine has the power to end the funding crisis in health care and the mismatch between problems and resources.  It can take healthcare out of the failing, expensive doctor/brick and mortar focus of the current delivery system into a virtual, patient focused world of effective and inexpensive, real time, computer assisted diagnoses and treatments".

Dr. Justin is an advisor and lead investor in KORE, a company that is transforming human waste into methane and potable water. 

Recently, in partnership with his son Eric, they have been researching and developing a transformational neuromodulation therapy for sexual dysfunction.

Lon G. von Hurwitz

Mr. von Hurwitz has over 30 years of experience as a senior executive in health and wellness solution development and marketing.

 He launched the Diabetes Treatment Centers of America in 2016 and is currently serving as President.

Formerly, he was Co-Founder and CEO of World Health Networks, Inc. where he started the Coalition for Healthful Airports in partnership with the Airports Council International (ACI), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Airline Medical Directors Association and the World Heart Federation. This global initiative supplies state of the art, networked, non- invasive biometric health stations in leading airports around the world.

Prior to this, at Lifeclinic International, Mr. von Hurwitz was President Sales, Marketing and Retailer Relations for a network of 23,000 self service health stations placed in the pharmacies of virtually all major chain drug stores in North America including Wal-Mart, Kroger, Safeway, CVS, Rite Aid, Target, Kmart, Albertson’s, etc. Annual usage of the health stations exceeded 450,000,000 annually.

As the volunteer National Chairman of the Board at Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) he produced the first-ever public service music videos with Stevie Wonder “Don’t Drive Drunk” and Aretha Franklin “Think before you Drive and Drink.” He also produced a national TV special with famed film critics Siskel and Ebert viewing the evolution of drinking and driving as portrayed in the movies; “Hollywood Gets MADD” and helped MADD become one of the most recognized non-profits in America.

James Novak, MD

James Novak, MD, is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois.  Following his internship at UC Davis Medical Center in 1981, he worked with the National Health Service Corp for three years, and has since practiced general family medicine for over 35 years.

He is an expert in integrative medicine, and is a member of the the American College for the Advancement of Medicine, and the Institute of Functional Medicine. 

 He has special expertise in nutrition, iv therapies, chelation, oxidative therapies, and metabolic medicine.  He also lectures internationally on chronic disease.

He currently practices at Novak Medical Group in San Diego, California, and is affiliated with Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Dr. Novak utilizes  a holistic, patient centered approach in treating patients with diabetic complications at his San Diego practice.

Jim Walker

Jim Walker has been a successful businessman in Memphis, Tennessee for much of his career. He was a Financial Advisor for over 15 years and currently is a Mortgage Loan Originator specializing in Jumbo financing for Triumph Mortgage.  

Jim has struggled with Type 2 diabetes as an adult and found a center offering the intravenous pulsed insulin therapy which created a new life for him.

Jim Walker is the owner of a diabetes clinic now currently operating in Memphis, Tennessee making a difference in diabetic patient's lives and healthfulness in this region.
